Big Island Gastroenterology

I was told by this office that Dr. Ahloy had room in his schedule to do a colonoscopy for me- do not even worry, he had more than a few free spaces in the 2nd half of Feb. ‘22. I was encouraged to see my primary dr. for a checkup & to get the referral along with my medical history. They squeezed me in, I hurried, made sure that all was sent to Dr. Ahloy, called his office on 3 different days, left messages to please help me make this happen before the month was over, as my medical insurance would end. Today, 3/1/22, they finally returned my call. When I said, “thanks, it’s too late” she replied, “well, we service the whole island”. I guess that means they are too busy to fill in those last empty spots in the dr’s schedule. Too bad. Here in Hilo, close to me, the gastro group is booked for months. I wonder when I will next have insurance?
