John's Creek Gastroenterology

John's Creek Gastroenterology has a practice of charging patients upfront for office / virtual doctor visits and procedures (I am not referring to Co-Payments). Then, they bill the insurance company for the same fees. It is not until I call and question this that they refund my upfront payment(s). According to my insurance company, this is very bad practice, is discouraged by the insurance company, and the insurance company advised me not to provide up front payments again. It seems shady that they charge me for the same cost that they then bill the insurance company for. The proof is very apparent on my EOB9s).

I came to this office for help with a hiatal hernia that I knew that I had. I was scheduled to have a barium swallow to confirm the diagnosis and to see if any other issues. This was done at the end of August. No call from the Dr. after 1 week. I called and the person that answered the phone told me that they had the results and she was going to call me. We discussed the barium swallow and she said that she would get back to me as the radiologist left some information off of the report. As of today I have never heard from this Dr. other than when I called to request information. I called today and spoke with Pat to request my file. She was not the least concerned that I had requested my file. She was very rude and arguementative. Would not let me finish my comment regarding the barium swallow. Would definitely not recommend.
