Office policy joke

I am a former patient of Dr Anderson and moved from the area. I am back in the area and wanted to schedule an appointment to be fitted with new orthotics. The ones that Dr Anderson fitted for me before are starting to wear out. I was told that since it’s been since 2014 since I visited that I would be considered a new patient and would need to have a referral from my primary care physician even though I have a PPO. What do they think, that my replacement joints in my feet have grown back? This is a problem with the medical field today, Dr’s just want to cover each other bankroll and TrueType are not concerned with their patients
