New West Physicians - Ascent Family Medicine

I needed a new doctor in March, so I made an appointment for a physical. It was fairly soon, which was a pleasant surprise. I was shocked that they have all paper forms (other doctors' practices are typically on computer or iPad and integrated with the electronic medical record) and no interest in getting my records from my old doctor. The long visit with Dr. O'Kelley was a pleasant surprise until she clearly didn't know anything about a condition I have, which was odd, and responded inappropriately enough that I wasn't sure I should see her. Then she said I needed to make an appointment at the front desk for my physical, which would be in late July. I had no idea I was not going to get a physical that day. I found a different doctor and had a physical in April, so I canceled my appointment. Then, in September, I got a bill for more than $200 for 'new patient intake' (physicals are free under insurance in CO). I feel like I was mugged.
