My husband recently was released from the hospital and has been a patient of Dr. Markabawi since his stroke in 2017. He recent had critical health issues that require close follow-up with Dr. Markabawi to adjust required medications to aid in his recovery. When we scheduled his follow up immediately after leaving the hospital, we were not informed of a previous balance. After many years of medical bills, being a working mother and caregiver, it's been hard to track what has been paid and what has not. When showing up for his appt, my husband was turned away because we were unable to pay $400 based on a balance from 2019 that we were told had already gone to collections. We've been back to the office since then without any indication this was an issue. Now that my husbands health is at stake we're being forced to look for a new cardiologist because of this balance. I am so disappointed and heartbroken that people are treated like this.
