Dr. Lela Heza grew up on the central coast of California and knew she would become a pediatrician from a young age. Prior to pursuing medical school, she worked in clinical research at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. She went on to receive her medical degree from Kansas City University and complete her pediatric residency at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. She joined our Cottonwood office in 2024. As a pediatrician, Dr. Heza particularly enjoys watching kids grow and develop into curious and caring humans. She strives to work with patients and their families to provide the most comprehensive care possible while recognizing that each family and each child is unique. She enjoys using a team approach to set goals together and creating an open and comfortable environment for all. Outside of work, Dr. Heza enjoys spending time outdoors. She is a budding pickleball player and loves hiking and skiing in the mountains with her partner. She enjoys cooking and experimenting in the kitchen and has two pet cats, Moira Rose and Friday.
