He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and his fellowship in vascular surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Politz has practiced with Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons since 1996. Dr. Politz is board-certified in general and vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Politz specializes in all aspects of open vascular surgery, particularly complex mesenteric revascularization and endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair. He also has extensive experience in exposure of the thoracic and lumbar spine. He has served as the program director for vascular surgery for the general surgery residency at The University of Texas at Austin since its establishment. In addition, Dr. Politz is an active member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, the Southern Association for Vascular Surgery, Parkland Surgical Society, Texas Medical Association and Travis County Medical Society.
