I began practicing at Digestive Health Specialists in the fall of 2015 coming from a practice in Maryland. I received my Doctorate of Medicine and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Debrecen Medical and Health Science Center. I then completed my Residency and Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York. There I was awarded Resident of the Year and was a Keynote speaker at Residency Graduation. I am a strong advocate of colon cancer prevention. My clinical interests include treatment of IBS, Celiac disease, Pancreatitis, and Peptic Ulcer disease.

Born and raised in Western Maryland, I received my Bachelor of Science degree from West Virginia University in 2004. Upon graduation, I attended medical school in England, where I subsequently earned my Doctorate of Medicine in 2008 graduating magna cum laude. I completed my internal medicine training and gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at Nassau University Medical Center in New York, where I was also Chief Resident of the Internal Medicine Residency Program. I was awarded Intern of the Year, Resident of the Year, and Fellow of the Year during my training. I have also completed a 4th Year Fellowship in Advanced Inflammatory Bowel Disease at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. My clinical interests include Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, reflux disease, esophageal disorders, liver disease, and colorectal cancer prevention. I have been practicing gastroenterology and hepatology since 2015.

My focused experience in all areas of digestive health provides Digestive Health Specialists, PA and my patients with experience that can be counted on. I was born in Birmingham, Alabama and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. I earned my B.A. degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and my MD degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. I completed my internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where I also completed my Fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. My clinical interests include Celiac Disease, general Gastroenterology and Colon Cancer Prevention.

In the decade-plus that W. Scott Berger, MD, has been part of the medical field, he has built a very successful general surgery practice. He loves the variety of cases that general surgery provides but also likes the chance to delve deeper into certain types of surgeries. The areas Dr. Berger enjoys most are thyroid, parathyroid and gastric surgeries. Dr. Berger is dedicated to helping his patients find relief from disorders and discomforts so they can get back to a more enjoyable, active lifestyle. Outside of work, Dr. Berger enjoys staying active with his family. He plays soccer and coaches his children in soccer, baseball and softball.

My practice focus is on inpatient hospital based gastroenterology care, with a special interest in Endoscopic Ultrasound and Biliary Disease. I follow evidence based medical guidelines so that patients can recieve cost effective, high quality medical care.
