I have been a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina since 2007 (we were originally called Licensed Professional Counselors, but that changed a few years ago). During my career, I have worked with adolescents and adults. In any therapeutic interaction, it is important to initially develop a relationship with my clients to develop an environment that promotes empathy, understanding, and support. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, various approaches drawn from Narrative Therapy, Redecision Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing strategies. We will discuss these approaches to match your needs and preferences while we are in session together. My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, panic attacks, addiction, chronic pain and health issues, trauma, bereavement, disability-related issues, and adjusting to many of the challenges that life presents us.
