"I believe that pregnancy is a natural if unique phase in a woman's life. My job is to assure that each pregnancy is proceeding normally and intervene if it is not. Many pregnancies are medically straightforward. Some, such as twins or triplets, may be complex from the outset. In others, problems such as high blood pressure or pre-term labor may develop. I am fortunate to practice at the Weill Cornell campus of the New York Presbyterian Hospital where the latest technologies and superbly trained specialists are only a few steps or a phone call away. Dr. Fridel provides complete care in all aspects of general obstetrics and gynecology. She manages normal and high risk pregnancies, performs laparoscopic surgeries for benign gynecologic conditions, provides contraceptive and STD counseling and preventive care for women of all ages from puberty to menopause. She believes in providing a warm, friendly, open and supportive office environment. Dr. Fridel is fluent in Russian and proficient in Spanish.

Dr. Chen attended the University of Washington's School of Medicine to earn her medical education, after she attended the university's College of Arts and Science, earning her Bachelor's degree in biochemistry. She completed her internship at the Boston University Medical Center, learning about general surgery. Dr. Chen completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the New York Downtown Hospital, where she was named chief resident of her specialty. In 2005, Dr. Chen earned the Marvin Dunn fellowship program, in which she traveled to Shenyang, China. Dr. Chen joins Weill Cornell Medicine after practicing as an OB/GYNgeneralist in lower Manhattan and Brooklyn.She is passionate about women's health, and she provides care for patients that experience ectopic or tubal pregnancy, cervical polyps, acne, abnormal pap smears, vaginal discharge, sexual dysfunction, and urinary tract infections.
