Dr. Stefan N. Chock is a graduate of the University of California at Riverside. He earned his master's degree and doctor of medicine degree from Chicago Medical School. He completed his fellowship training in surgical, critical care and trauma at the University of Maryland Medical Center's prestigious Baltimore Schock Trauma Center.Dr. Chock's chosen field of trauma surgery and critical care medicine acknowledges his belief that all patients, no matter how critical the injury, should receive his full attention so that the patient's goal of recovery is realized. His patient and their family are his number one priority. Dr. Chock has conducted original research in the field and regularly presents his findings at medical conferences. He has shown his quest for more knowledge in the field of trauma medicine by participating in elective programs, some as far away as Thailand and as close to home as Pennsylvania. Dr. Chock is also proficient in advance foregut laparoscopic procedures. As an original member of the Desert Surgical Associates group, Dr. Chock helped to develop the trauma critical care program at Sunrise Hospital, and continues to be involved in changes to the program as new technology warrants.
