Meeting children and their families and following them as they grow and develop into unique individuals has been one of the greatest pleasures of my career. I love providing care through all stages of childhood and adolescence. Each child and family is unique and deserves a provider who is adaptable and will really listen and work with them to provide the best outcomes. I particularly enjoy working with new babies and their parents in breastfeeding and lactation. Feeding your baby seems like it should be a lot easier than it sometimes is, and I love encouraging new families to find what works best for them. I struggled with breastfeeding my first child for weeks, but I finally found the help I needed. That encouraged me to pursue training to become a lactation consultant, and now I am able to help other new families as well.

As a pediatrician, I find that getting to know children and families over time as they grow and change is extremely rewarding. My special interests include adolescent health, along with developmental and behavioral pediatrics. I enjoy caring for families who would like to establish a relationship with one primary doctor to care for and follow-up on long-term concerns such as prematurity, kidney disease or other chronic problems. My philosophy is to work closely with patients' and families' input in evaluating and treating their concerns. I am fluent in Spanish and am a Minnesota native. I enjoy spending time with my young daughters, family and friends. We like cooking, music, books, plays and nature walks.

I adore the energy and vitality of children as well as their unique perspective on life. It's a joy to watch them grow and develop. I've worked with children in every job I've ever had in my life, and couldn't imagine it any other way. In other words, I'm a "kid person." I believe not only in treating children, but also educating parents so that they can make the best health decisions for their kids. I spend as much time as needed with each family, regardless of what the clock says. I am an avid bicyclist and do yoga weekly. I love to cook, although following recipes is not my thing. But my true love is travel and meeting people from around the globe. From Wichita, Kansas, to Paris and rural Vietnam, my goal is to experience as many places as I can.
