As an internal medicine doctor, I specialize in the care of adults. I enjoy all aspects of internal medicine, from practicing preventive health to treating patients with complex and chronic medical problems. A large part of my practice focuses on women's health. After being away from the Twin Cities for several years, it has been a pleasure to return and work in the community where I grew up.

I am double board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics, meaning that I am fortunate to be able to see patients from the newborn stage all the way up through old age. As a primary care provider, I partner with my patients and specialists to provide comprehensive care for many chronic conditions. I genuinely enjoy the relationships I form with my patients and believe that mutual respect and learning are essential to an effective doctor-patient relationship. I constantly strive to provide culturally responsive and equitable care.

I enjoy working in the health care industry, and I realized early in life that this is one of my passions. What I didn't realize is that one of my favorite aspects of my job would be getting to know people from all walks of life that I might not normally meet. I'm continually amazed by the interesting, non-medical things I learn about people's lives. Therefore, I strive to learn at least one thing about my patients that isn't medically related. This helps to give me a better understanding of the whole person rather than just a medical diagnosis.

I believe in spending quality time with each patient, regardless of what brought them in to see me. Patients deserve the care and understanding that we would seek for our own families, and I think our present clinical setup provides the opportunity for that. I have special interests in preventive medicine, diabetes, hypertension, sports medicine, asthma, sleep apnea and COPD.
