My approach is based upon a philosophy I learned from a mentor during my Public Health training. He said if I listened to patients long enough, they would tell me exactly what the issue was. I respect the patient's perspective and focus on joint decision-making regarding treatment choices. I believe in taking time to educate patients and their families about possible causes of their illness and work to encourage habits and lifestyle changes that prevent worsening of an illness. There are many factors that affect health outcomes, so I work closely with other specialties to address issues beyond my scope as a cardiologist to ensure that patients have all the support they need. I always want patients to leave satisfied that their questions and concerns have been addressed.

Bailey enjoys staying active with volleyball and golf and loves to travel, hike and camp. She cherishes time spent with family and friends. Since graduate school, she has explored other hobbies such as crocheting, reading or improving her culinary skills.

Dr. Oberto-Medinas uncle was her pediatrician when she was a little girl and from a very early age she knew that she also wanted to become a doctor. As a caregiver to her parents, she has learned to navigate the medical system and understand what it is like to be in a patients' shoes. Her and her husband enjoy spending their free time outdoors; sailing, snowboarding and skiing. When she goes outside for a run, she is usually accompanied by her two dogs who love the exercise.
