As a family nurse practitioner, I care for individuals throughout the lifespan. Through a holistic approach to care, I honor the many environmental, emotional, social, and economic factors that influence health. Careful listening is the cornerstone of my practice and allows me to collaborate with patients to meet their health goals. I practice in the realms of preventative health, minor illness/injury, and chronic medical issues.

I like family practice because I see all ages of patients with all sorts of medical problems. I also like talking to healthy patients to try to keep them from getting sick. I think that is where family practice plays a significant role: in helping people enjoy healthy lifestyles. Away from work, I spend most of my time with my wife Lori and our daughters Jessie and Willa.

While I enjoy working with patients of all ages, my particular professional interests include hypertension, adult cardiovascular preventive medicine, diabetes mellitus, adolescent medicine, migraines and sports medicine. A native of southern Minnesota and a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Medicine, I trained and worked in rural Wisconsin for nearly a decade before returning home to Minnesota in 2008. I am also a veteran of the United States Army Reserve. I now look forward to meeting many of you and hope to be a knowledgeable, kind and compassionate source of medical advice and treatment for you. Outside of work, I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my wife and children. Skiing, soccer, gardening, bird watching, hiking and camping are some of my favorite activities.
