I'm originally from India and grew up in four countries: India, Kenya, Saudi Arabia and the United States. Having that global perspective has helped me understand and empathize with patients of all different backgrounds. Working for HealthPartners from 2008 to 2015 as a clinical research project manager inspired me to practice medicine and spend my career providing care to patients. During my clinical training at Augsburg, I discovered that I loved working in family medicine. I enjoy supporting patients of all different ages and backgrounds. That's why I stayed in primary care. I never know what I'm going to see, and every day I'm pushed to use what I've learned so I can do as much as I can for my patients. I have a passion for working with underserved patients, especially refugees and new immigrants, older adults, and the LGBTQIA+ population. I also enjoy working with pediatric patients and their families. Some of my top interests include diabetes and hypertension management, HIV medicine, travel medicine, sexual health and chronic disease care. I understand the importance of preventive care and work with my patients to help them prevent disease and live longer, healthier lives. I take a team approach to health care. Partnering with patients, we decide on an evidence-based care plan. If I need more resources, I have a great team of providers to support me, as well as the whole care system and referrals network.

I am excited to be serving patients as a family practice provider. I was born and raised in Minnesota and earned my nursing degrees in North Dakota. After several years of work in hospitals, primarily with children, I moved to Colorado where I had the privilege of working in rural and community facilities caring for underserved and vulnerable populations. These experiences evoked my passion for providing holistic family care by attending to physical, emotional and basic human needs. I chose to practice in family medicine because I enjoy many fields of medicine, but areas of particular interest include preventive care, women's health and the management of diabetes, hypertension and thyroid. I believe it is imperative to collaborate with my patients in their health care decisions, and learn all the factors in their lives that may encourage or prevent them from achieving their wellness goals. I also incorporate alternative therapies and supplements when appropriate to treat chronic conditions.

Family medicine to me is about building relationships with my patients. I want to help people of all ages manage their full range of medical and mental health needs. My interests include patient-centered women's health, dermatology and skin procedures, transgender care, preventive health and addiction medicine. I welcome the opportunity to get to know the community and provide excellent, necessary primary care.
