Hi! My name is Candice and I am a licensed professional clinical counselor; holding my independent license in both Kentucky and Ohio. I have been working in the mental health field for over 7 years. I have served as both an individual and group counselor for people struggling with addictions, anxiety, depression, self esteem issues, communication troubles, family and/or relationship conflict, and much more. I have extensive knowledge in substance abuse issues, having worked with that population for nearly 5 years. I obtained my bachelor's degree in anthropology and master's degree in clinical mental health counseling, both from Northern Kentucky University. I have always been interested in learning about people through their stories and decided to become a counselor in hopes of making a positive impact in people's lives. I understand that seeking counseling can be a big (and sometimes scary) step, therefore I embrace my clients with kindness and without judgement. I enjoy assisting clients in identifying their own strength and using these to achieve the life they desire (and deserve). I am a doctoral-level psychologist licensed in Kentucky with over 30 years of experience working as a psychotherapist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, anger management, physical and emotional trauma, PTSD, and LGBTQ concerns. My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I place emphasis on the client becoming their own "agent of change" by identifying areas for change or modification. Although I gather information about past history, my primary focus is about determining how to improve psychological, emotional, and life circumstances in the "here-and-now." I will never tell you "what to do." Instead, I will serve as a guide as you explore and consider the changes you want to make. My primary therapeutic approach is Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, but I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Hello, my name is Dr. Glover; I'm originally from San Diego, California. I received my doctorate degree from Oregon State University in Counseling with a specialty in Counselor Education & Supervision. I'm a repeat Alumni of Portland State University receiving a Masters of Science in Counseling with an emphasis on Rehabilitation and Community Counseling and a Bachelor's of Science in Sociology and Psychology. I'm a Nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, a Nationally Certified Dialectal Behavioral Therapist, a Nationally Certified Addictions Counselor as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor in multiple states. I have worked in the human service field for over 20 years. My experience allows me to walk through the journey of change with my clients in an empathetic, compassionate, and understanding manner.
