Over the years I have worked with a variety of conditions ranging from schizophrenia, to depression and anxiety, relationship concerns, ADHD, anger management, OCD, mood disorders, to name a few. When working with clients, I use a number of approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, Solution Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic, but most importantly, I based my approaches to what my clients bring to the sessions. I am able to provide therapy in both English and in Spanish.

Certified in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), I equip clients with tools to navigate social relationships, manage emotions, resist self-destructive impulses, and cultivate balance and acceptance in their lives.

I often work with people working to overcome depression or anxiety, healing from childhood trauma, dealing with grief and loss, going through life transitions, or just don't feel like themselves and don't know why. I consider myself to be eclectic to fit the needs of the person but tend to favor the following therapeutic approaches: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Object Relations, Attachment, and Psychodynamic therapies.

Mindfulness and guided meditation are also key components of my practice, and I have seen great success in helping clients develop these skills for emotional regulation and healing.I work with clients facing a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, PTSD, stress management, life transitions, body image issues, grief/loss, and multicultural issues. I am trained in EMDR and utilize this powerful modality to help individuals process trauma and foster lasting healing. Beyond my work with clients, I have a strong passion for teaching and have taught clinical psychology and research methods at the university level. I look forward to returning to teaching in the future as part of my career progression. Outside of therapy, I dedicate a significant portion of my time to my non-profit work with Project Taqwa, a Muslim mental health advocacy organization. Through Project Taqwa, I help organize workshops to raise awareness about mental health and co-authored a sexual violence prevention manual aimed at increasing accessibility to mental health resources in the community.

In my therapeutic work, I employ a range of evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). My goal is to empower clients to develop resilience and achieve meaningful change in their lives.
