Absolutely will NOT recommend this place to anyone. I don’t ever leave reviews. It’s just simply not my thing. But when it comes to kids, I HAVE TO. In all of my 13 years in dentistry as a dental assistant including pediatrics, I have never experienced such bad service in my life. Let me just start by saying that their “No parent allowed back” is ridiculous. I know that sometimes kids behave better without a parent. Been there done that! But a chance should always be given to each family. My kids didn’t even flinch with me in the room. She had a couple of cavities, which we scheduled, but they said my insurance would not cover for white fillings and I would have to pay the difference, they would only cover for amalgams (aka silver fillings. Of course, I said no way. I know for a fact that MOST insurances, even Medicaid Molina cover for them. They canceled the appointment until they sent a predetermination to the insurance after. Ins. COVERED ALL! They are possibly over charging these.

This review is for the Naples office on Piper Boulevard. They insist that children go back alone to the treatment rooms which I was fine with since my teen was there to have x-rays and a 6-month cleaning. But when she walked out I learned they put sealants on 6 (six) of her teeth without my permission or knowledge, or even given a choice in the matter. The Dentist never spoke with me or showed me her x-rays, nor did anyone talk to me about the sealants. Sealants are a controversial procedure -- they are known to prevent cavities but are permanent for up to 3 years, have questionable chemicals in them and like other controversial medical procedures should be researched by the Parent and the Parent given the choice to do the treatment or not. Also, the cost for 6 sealants is around $600, covered by insurance but nevertheless. My advice -- don't sign the BLANK (yes, blank) "Consent Form" the lady at the front desk gives you. The waiting room, office and Dental area where procedures are done are very kid friendly which I feel helps the children feel much more relaxed and at ease. The receptionist, Diana and staff are very friendly and professional. My grandson typically has very high anxiety at the dentist but his visit and procedures went very well without any fear or tantrums. It is a long trip for us from Port Charlotte but well worth it if he is comfortable and happy.

Very good with kids and the wait isn't long

I saw this dentist when I was about three years old (I'm currently 19), and he traumatized me to dentists for most of my childhood. Saw him once and I was physically restrained and my mother was told she could not come to the room with me. Never saw him, again. I had to carry a bucket in the car because I would vomit in fear every time I saw a dentist. I didn't get over it until I was 16 and had a root canal, which erased my fear since it went so well.

BEWARE, the office may look cool, but it is very mismanaged. Today they overbooked but had confirmed my appt twice. I made arrangements for my day & took off work for this appt, Then a few hours before the appt to tell me that my dentist quit 3 months ago. The office manager apologized & offered me an earlier appt. I told her ok but I might be a few minutes late because of picking my daughter up at school and getting across the bridge during season. She said no, that was against their policy!

Very friendly place, staff always tells you what they're going to do at visit before bringing them back and updates you with visits.

This dentist office is very good with my children. They put my daughter at ease every time!

Parents should feel more comfortable with being able to go back. In 3 years, I've still never met the dr. Staff friendly. Office clean, but takes way too long to get I'm in. Which tells me they see way too many patients.

Great place

Staff is very friendly and my family and I have always felt welcomed. Office very clean and organized I love it.. My oldest son with be 15 years old and have been under Dr Verwest care sense he was 5 as well as my other 3 kids that attends head as well... I love it.

Fantastic office

Very proffesional staff. The environment is so kid friendly. I love coming here with my children. It is kept extremely clean and I would most definitely continue recommending this offic to my family, friends and coworkers.

This place is amazing everyone is super helpful and friendly they have an incredable waiting room with all sorts of games and tablets plus huge animal statues and all sorts of things to take pics with we never have waited more then 30 mins but even if the wait was longer there's so much for the kids to do and there's stuff for parents as well it deff does not make you feel like a waiting room I drive an hour to come here just because we like it so much

Dr. Verwest was my dentist as a child and now my daughters dentist .. He is kind and handles children very well..
