Dr. Ross Mitchell, DMD

As I checked out of the office following my exam, the receivables person announced that I owed $394.000 payable immediately. She lectured me about my “responsibility” to her office & was generally a bit obnoxious. I had spoken to her before the visit, during which time she told me to be prepared to pay $258.80 at the time of my exam. She called back and told me I would owe $275.00 instead. So $394.00 was quite a surprise. I went into the parking lot and got on the phone with Aetna to ensure that I needed to pay the entire amount up front, before the insurance was even billed. I returned to Dr. Mitchell’s office to make the entire payment, but she stated at that time that she had never demanded it! Long story short, had a bad time at Dr. Mitchell’s office so I decided not to continue treatment there.

procedure was fine. Front office was not. Not compassionate or honest with her word.

So far so good... I have 2 root canals scheduled with him tomorrow, and I am feeling good about it at this point. Staff have clearly outlined the costs beforehand, and gotten me in very quickly. Root canals are not covered by my insurance which is a bummer, but their pricing seems fair. My one recommendation for improvement would be if their could offer service to crown the tooth after root canal. Here's to hoping all goes well tomorrow! ;-)

The procedure, itself (root canal), was painless. The infection that followed was horrific. I would request antibioitcs, upfront, next time. The front office person is somewhat indifferent.
