Dr. Richard Tananis, DDS

You need to pay up for a new set of x-rays. They will try and convince you that you have more things wrong with your teeth than you actually do so that your insurance can be billed for astronomical amounts. If you don't agree they will kindly (or rudely) tell go see another dentist. Has a successful location and that is geared to rip off the influx of senior citizens to the area. I would seek out another dentist

I have been going to Dr. Tananis for many years. I have always received excellent care. He explains what needs to be done and does so in a caring way. I tend to be anxious about dental visits and he always checks to see if I am okay. His assistant Marianne Young who has more than 40 years of experience was so attentive and friendly. She helped me to stay calm through a lengthy procedure. The whole staff was so helpful. From checkin to scheduling and billing. I highly recommend this dental office.

My bridge fell out and every other local dentist was booked a month out, but Lewes Dental had openings the next day. Then I found out why: it took them three tries to take impressions of my teeth, and removing each molding hurt more than the previous try. It felt like my teeth were going to rip out of my mouth. When I arrived for my next appointment, they realized they had sent the impression to the wrong lab. They had to send it back out to a different lab, which took two more weeks. For the prices they charge, the pain of the impressions they screwed up, and the amount of time it took to finally get the bridge, Lewes Dental wasn’t worth it. Found another, better dentist nearby.

Was difficult to find parking and a long walk to his office, but he was running pretty late anyways so it worked out good. His office was very clean and very crowded, so he didn’t get to spend much time on my exam but his staff was very nice to talk to. Going back for cleaning in a couple weeks.

Overall I have had a very good experience with this dentist. Yes, sometimes he tells you what you don't want to hear but overall he has your best interests at heart. Would recommend.
