Dr. Paul Matlock, DDS

Dr. Matlock is a really nice guy, as is his staff, but sadly I don't trust him and won't be back. He recommended pulling 2 teeth that did not need to be pulled, did not return calls to my oral surgeon, and I lost other teeth that could have been saved if he recommended a root canal earlier. There also seemed to be no urgency to get me in quickly with a dental emergency. In the end, I think he was just glad to get rid of me and my complicated dental problems.

I had a crown done by Dr. Holtzman, excellent work, when leaving, my bill was $1050.00, this was in consideration of all services. Jennifer was not in that day and at the time I was not offered a cost breakdown. I contacted Jennifer the following Monday and I was told the amount I was being billed for is higher than what I was told while in the dentist chair, and at a cost above the $1,250 I was quoted. After further discussion, she did allow the reduced cost but insisted that I pay the separate charge. I agreed to pay her the amount she requested. Now two weeks later I received another bill for $426 as the insurance company did not pick up all the charges as expected, after I was told the typical coverage is 60%. It turned out to be considerably less as the insurance company has a fee schedule which is typical for preferred dental facilities, this was not explained to me by Jennifer. If you employ their services, WATCH OUT, make doubly sure what you overall cost will be.

Dr. Matlock has been our family dentist for almost 20 years. We trust his skill as a dentist implicitly; however, it's not just Dr. Matlock that we recommend. His entire staff is terrific. Leslie, the first face one sees and the first voice one hears when contacting Matlock Dental is caring, professional, and terrific in every way. You can tell a lot about a practice by the staff and Dr. Matlock has a stellar staff. My hygienist, Virginia, is absolutely amazing. She is kind and gentle. My four children have literally grown up in Dr. Matlock's chair. He has an amazing rapport with kids and has been there for us for every dental procedure-- from cleanings to crowns to root canals. We'd be lost without Paul T. Matlock! He's more than our family dentist. When one walks into his office and sits in his chair, you instantly become his friend, too. Dr. Matlock is the type of dentist one hopes never retires. He's a gem in every sense of the word. I can't recommend him or his staff enough.

Dr. Matlock is caring and knowledgeable. He is also an artist when it comes to his skill. His major concern is his patients' comfort, and he makes sure that his patients are pain free and relax during all procedures. I had to make an emergency appointment due to a cracked tooth. He was able to fit me in on very short notice.
