Did not ned a root canal
Long story short. After filling a tooth that had been bothering me and it still hurt a few weeks later, I informed Dr. Berger. Without even looking at my recent x-ray or examining my tooth, he stated I needed a root canal. I asked why I now needed a root canal, but didn't need one when he did the filling a few weeks prior. Received a non-answer and was told to stop tapping on the tooth. Root canal would have been $2,132 with my insurance paying a small amount. Got two more opinions and was informed on both that I DID NOT NEED A ROOT CANAL. The reason the tooth was still hurting was due to Dr. Berger's incomplete filling. He also stated I needed four crowns - new opinions were I needed one crown. He also pushed two mini implants - whereas the other two options were I need a bridge. Cancelled my future appointment. Total scammer. Beware.

Scammer
At first I really liked him and even referred him to my friends and family… as it turned out the more I went to him the more work that needed to be done. The last time I went in for a cleaning I was told my teeth were horrible for my age and I needed 5 additional crowns. I never went back, took me 5 years to go to a different dentist after that experience. 2 cavities is all I needed. So I guess my 5 crowns healed themselves.

I'm sorry to report that this doctor needs to retire! Had two crowns, one with endodontics done by Dr. Paul Berger exactly 5 years ago. BOTH crowns have failed and replacements needed due to poor margins during the crown preparation. His Endondontic work (tooth 18) may now require a removal of the tip of the root due to that fact that a fairly substantial part of one canal was NOT cleaned out to the tip and filled. That root tip area now has an infection in the bone area. WARNING: Have a work done by him at "your own risk."
