I made an appointment for my 84yo mother-stating very clearly that it was for a very loose fitting lower denture, that we wanted to look into implants/denture and that she had UHC supplemental. When she checked in, she was told that she would have to pay $200-which she payed before she was even seen. She does not remember being told that UHC does not cover anything to do with dentures. After xrays and being examined by Dr Strasser, he told her that she didn't have enough bone-when he realized that a popcorn kernel was not part of her jaw bone. He could refer her to specialist that did implants. He offered to do a "soft reline" with "no promises." Since she had already paid for it , she agreed. The denture adhesive they applied didn't even stay in her mouth for 2 hours. 40 days later, we got the statement from UHC saying they declined to cover the $200.00 application of denture adhesive. I came to Dr. Strasser last minute as I was switching jobs and had a tooth that was bothering me so much I couldn't drink. He was open later than most (that day until 7). He explained the situation and even talked to me about several options including the lease invasive to a higher level treatment. Even with the most conservative treatment he was able to solve me problem. I usually hate the dentist but he made me feel very calm. No pain ever sin also! I highly Recommend Dr. Strasser.
