Dr. Mitchell Hopkins, DDS

After the retirement of my dentist in 2022, I was referred to Mitchell Hopkins, DDS. From my first appointment in July 2022 it was a very negative experience. In order to reduce the very high prices quoted, I signed up for the Hopkins Dental Plan at a cost of $400. The Plan included reduced pricing and two cleanings per year. I had a cleaning done in September 2022, then I made an appointment for the second cleaning in April 2023. About one hour prior to that appointment I received a phone call at home, advising me that this cleaning would be deep tissue at an additional cost of $960; of course, I was offended since I had never agreed to their deep tissue program. I informed your representative that I would not make the appointment, since I just wanted the standard cleaning covered by the Plan. Subsequently, I decided that HDH was not the right practice for me and demanded that $200 (for the second cleaning) be refunded to me. HDH refused. A VERY BAD EXPERIENCE.

Highly recommend Dr. Hopkins. Procedures that used to take weeks are done within one visit.

Way over priced based on my informal calls to 12 DDS with over 100 4.5 and 5 star reviews. Willing to make a major dental determination on an extremely poor xray that showed nothing due to the poor angle it was taken. Willing to do a crown BEFORE an obviously needed root canal. After crown lengthening 1st said wait 6 mo's, then wanted to do crown right away with vague reasoning. Overpriced xrays

My former dentist retired and I recently moved back to KC. Having been to a few other dentists over the years Dr. Hopkins is the best. He is diligent, professional, and has a well trained staff. Receptionist and both dental hygienists are excellent. They go above and beyond: they made time to see me unexpectedly one day when I had a toothache. Dr. Hopkins is a phenomenal dentist and I would highly recommend him.
