Dr. Michael Zola, DMD

I've been told I need appointments every 3 months because I have "a lot of plaque buildup" according to the hygienist. And yet she finishes my cleaning in about 15 min. I've never had a cavity in my life, but I'm treated like I don't take care of my teeth. Dr. Zola himself doesn't even examine me himself. I've agreed to appointments every 3 months for a year now, but I think it's time I find someone else.

Dr Zola is the best dentist I’ve ever come across and I’ve been through many dentists. I’m prone to cavities due to all my wisdoms are intact. And since I’ve been lucky enough to give him a shot I’ve had only one cavity in the past five years. I used to have at least 5 cavities in the same period of time before entrusting Dr. Zola with all of my dental needs/care. In response to the missed cavity post in the previous post... not all cavities are easily found.... if you fail to mention sensitivity in a particular part of your mouth, that’s on you Zola and the staff there have never failed me and if anything have saved my smile. If I moved out of state I would still travel back to Los Angeles for the care and service Dr. Zola and his staff provide.

He missed a HUGE decay in my first office visit, one his own hygenist alerted him to, telling me it was fine to not come back for a whole year. My periodontist found it that same afternoon and had me immediately arrange to see someone about getting a root canal so I could save that tooth. Dr. Zola made his exam by looking at X-rays rather than my teeth. I'd recommend this guy if only you somehow know that your teeth don't need any care. I asked for a refund and he only offered his own exam fee, half of what I paid. And he hasn't even made good on that after 6 weeks...asked to see photos of the decay, then to see new x-rays, then to talk w/ my periodontist, then my dentist, then he can't connect via cell phone, then another week goes by...it never ends. Find a different dentist.
