I will never step foot in this office again. My supposedly 2.5 hr root canal turned into two horrible 3 hour sessions, spaced a month apart. There is no patient comfort here. I sat there shivering for 2 of the hours the first session, fists clenched and obviously traumatized. When done I was so traumatized I could hardly talk and was visibly in shock. No one ever asked if I was okay or if I had someone picking me up (I didn't). They do not offer anything to help you relax, no music playing, nothing. 2nd session, I brought my own blanket and music w/headphones to help. Again, never was asked if I was doing okay during the whole except 10 min. before finishing. Again, I walked out feeling like I was in shock, luckily I had a ride . When finished, I still had a raging infection in my jaw, was prescribed the same antibiotic for third time, it didn't work, I had to go to elsewhere to get the proper antibiotic that took care of the infection quickly. Whole experience was terrible

My last appointment with Doctor Ash was April 2021. I have been a patient for at least 20 years. He is one of the finest dentists I have ever had. I certainly hate root canals but would go to no one else but Ash. My adult daughter recently had a root canal performed by Dr Ash. She was amazed and relieved to have no pain during or after treatment. He has a genuine, warm and disarming manner that I have appreciated over the years. Equally outstanding is his office staff. From reception to technicians, they provide friendly, comfortable support. As soon as this pandemic is over, I intend to provide gift certificates to all of them

I’m sure Dr. Ash is very skilled, but his front-of-office staff leave much to be desired; Their soft skills are horrible. I had an appt at 12:00pm. Arrived at 11:50am and called the office. At 12:15pm my phone rings and it was the front-office staff wanting to re-verify my insurance coverage. This was already explained to me. I was told this was a 20min appt (approaching 12:20pm) and I asked when I would be admitted. I was brusquely informed they are short staffed due to COVID. Was also explained that my appt time was actually the Dr "squeezing me in during his lunch hour otherwise I’d have to wait 2 months for an appointment". This obviously did not resonate well; Sorry for interrupting your sandwich with my sore tooth, Doctor. When I was called at 12:25pm, I was told my mask "wasn't good enough" and needed to be replaced with a surgical mask (which does not fit). It was at this point I chose to leave. Is Dr. Ash qualified? Who knows? His front-office staff however are a train wreck.

I was traveling through Ann Arbor when I developed an emergent need for a root canal on the only day I would be in town. Thanks to a local dentist who contacted Dr. Ash, he agreed to see me. After evaluating my status, Dr. Ash and his staff stayed long past their usual work day to tend to my surgical needs so that I could find comfort before departing town. I found him to be an excellent technician, efficient, communicative, comforting, and all this to a stranger, not a regular patient, when he no doubt just wanted to go home and have dinner! He's a hero in my book.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Ash. Going in, I had some "trauma" around dental visits from a past bad visit (with a different dentist) so I was a nervous wreck. Dr. Ash's calming, professional, and assured demeanor put me at ease throughout the appointment. The root canal was completely painless even though I'm hard to numb up properly. I experienced no discomfort whatsoever. I feel like my visit with Dr. Ash helped restore some of my trust in dentists and for that I am grateful.

Dr. Ash and his excellent staff provided the most friendly, caring atmosphere and level of skill I have ever experienced. They got me in on an emergency basis and quickly scheduled a root canal. On each of 3 visits, they asked me to call the next day to update them on my condition. Impressive!
