Dr. James Pope, DDS

Throughout my life, I've had multiple dentists. But the past 10 years, I have had 1. Dr. Pope and his team are the best in Baton Rouge. I literally look forward to going see them and feel confident when I do that I am being taken care of. Becky is awesome too!! I don't worry about a thing in his chair, and when I once had an emergency on the weekend, I only had to call. He is really, really good at understanding the patient and ensuring as much comfort and little pain as possible. Seriously, do yourself and family a favor and go to Dr. Pope.

I am a current patient of Dr. Pope and my only regret is that I hadn’t seen him sooner. After several poor experiences at my previous dentist, I decided to see Dr. Pope based on many outstanding recommendations from friends and colleagues. His office is easy to get to and is in a safe location, which is important to me. His staff is always welcoming and I’m treated like family. Becky at the front desk is extremely knowledgeable about insurance (unlike my previous dentist) and advises me of my options up-front so I am not surprised by any hidden charges or fees. The equipment is state-of-the-art, and the entire clinic is always clean and welcoming when you walk in, which really puts me at ease because going to the dentist can be stressful for some people. Any stress or fear goes away as soon as you meet Dr. Pope. He genuinely cares about dental health and understands that each patient is unique. He truly takes pride in his work and always does a phenomenal job.

He's an amazing dentist with decades of experience, very friendly and to the point in terms of getting his patients in and out in a timely fashion. He's very honest and informative when it comes to treating his patients. He's understand and empathetic of his patients and their situations to include personal financial standing. I would strongly recommend him to my friends and family and will continue to go to his office so long as he is in business. Also His staff is very welcoming and efficient.

Horrible. I got an xray & he came in & looked in my mouth for a minute. He said "I would recommend a specialist & that's going to be very expensive but I'm not going to treat you. I've treated patients like you before. You think you know more than me, you can't afford the services and you just waste my time. That's not what I'm here for so I'm not going to treat you."I said "Ok- what kind of specialist?" He said "I'm not going to tell you because I'm not going to treat you" & walked out.

I've been going to Dr. Pope for at least the last 7 years, however I will not be going back. I was sick and unable to make my appointment. I was advised at that time that I'd be charged a $30 fee. Not feeling like arguing while I was ill, I just let it slide. Well, I received a $30 charge in the mail. I called up to complain, as it was the first time that I'd ever missed my appointment. I was told, by Becky, that all of the patients sign a form agreeing to this fee. I understand that, but I aske

Dr Pope is a gentle and caring dentist.

BEWARE!!! no reason for me to waste another second of my life reliving this experience...just hope i can prevent just one person from meeting this man. JUST BEWARE!!!

I'm 44 years old and first time to get a tooth extraction...nervousness set in on overload from horror stories. I must admit Dr. Pope is a true professional. He and his friendly staff set me at ease. He took his time and explained everything, gave me options, and the environment wasn't bad at all (dental assistants). Overall, a great experience. I would recommend him to everyone who needs dental care. He's true to his craft.
