What a racket!
I have been going to periodontists all my adult life, so I know the drill, but this place took the cake. After my extensive exam, I was told I needed Planing. I was brought into an office and quoted an exorbitant amount, and asked to sign forms, even offered a payment plan. They were so pushy it was hard to be polite. I declined and left. In four visits, Dr. Papp never once looked inside my mouth! Once, while waiting for my appointment, I heard another patient on her phone saying they told her if she didn't get the planing. done she couldn't come back. After 6 months, they were still calling me asking what I decided about the planing procedure, after I had already clearly said no. I stopped going there after I heard the patient in the waiting area! This place should be investigated.

Definately don,t go here.
First of all they hit a nerve and half of my chin is permanently numb. Secondly he put in two implants and the screws broke off in both of them. He claimed he couldn’t get the screws out and had to start over with totally different implants which he charged me more than the originals. He is rude, unprofessional, uncaring and his staff is no better. He overcharges for everything and does unnecessary periodontal work. He is the worst. If I could give him negative starts I Would.

Second opinion
Get a second opinion on your periodontal needs. Spent 4k on wife. Quoted me for less work at 6k. Then I got second opinion that I had no periodontal disease and bone was fine. FYI. I got 2 and 3rd opinions. Not certain what but another dentist from Kentwood referred me here and it didn't feel right. Get a few opinions before going here.

Rude
Sort of rude and pushy. When I said I was nervous, a girl came in and told me if they needed to stop the procedure, there would be a FEE. After Dr. Papp was finished, he pretty much just walked out….no kind words, no advice, NOTHING. The girl gave me a sheet to read, but very few verbal instructions, and she never asked if I understood everything or had any questions. When I asked if they could adjust the headrest, she told me that they had already adjusted it once. REALLY? It was uncomfortable, and I guess they couldn’t be bothered to do it again. All of this surprised me, because everyone was so nice when I first visited. I am not looking for special treatment, just patience and politeness. I was disappointed, to say the least.

We highly recommend you find another periodonitist. While we loved some of his staff, we do not recommend Dr. Papp. 1. They dropped our insurance and didn't tell us. 2. He sent us to get a root canal. When we showed up for the root canal appointment, with another dentist recommended by Papp, we were told there's no need for a root canal. 3. On another occasion, Dr. Papp pulled 4 teeth telling us that he could do implants. Dr. Papp pulled the 4 teeth and then couldn't do the implants. Their office literally sent us packing. They left us without 4 teeth and told us there was nothing they could do. The thousands of dollars spent was a complete waste. This guys is nuts.
