Dr. Felines Tipton, DDS

Dr Tipton is one of our best dentists in Humboldt County. So I'm sad today 2/23/21 to have to write that I was told at the office by staff that Dr. Tipton and her staff have chosen not to be vaccinated against Covid-19 at all. The rationale given is that they are all healthy themselves and "don't trust vaccines". In my opinion, this shows a callus disregard for the well-being of patients. It also shows a poor understanding of the science behind vaccination. It does dramatically lower the odds that you will get sick, die or make someone else ill by lessening the likelihood of infection and lowering the viral load in healthy carriers. That any front-line worker who connects with the public, any healthcare worker of any kind, would work on unknowing patients unvaccinated when they could be is wrong It's a professional privilege, not a right, for which you have to be licensed, to work in dentistry. They should have to vaccinated to protect the public. It's professional responsibility
