Dr. Elena Kan, DDS

Dr. Kan's staff was able to get me in very quickly. Had pain! She checked me out and did the root canal that very day. People complain about root canals. Well, they didn't go to Dr Kan. There was no pain during my procedure. Both Dr Kan and her staff were very helpful and cordial.

Dr. Kan is well respected among her peers, and I found her to be very competent and caring with a great demeanor. I've had several procedures with her which were well-handled, but then she went out of her way to save a tooth in a very difficult and complicated procedure, for which I will always be grateful. I can't speak highly enough of the trust and respect I have for her.

I can not say enough good things about Dr. Kan and her staff. She explains everything completely, is kind and understanding, and will not do dental work unless it is necessary. She did a root canal on me that went smoothly and, even days later, answered all of my questions.

I had a root canal done at Downtown Endodontics, Dr. Kan was very good, but I had a 5-month nightmare dealing with the person who takes care of billing. I paid in full, and my two insurances, which I had to work with because this clinic refuse to process payments through insurance?, also paid them. Getting my reimbursement was practically impossible and the worst nightmare because of the inappropriateness and rudeness of this staff person. The aggravation is not worth using this clinic.

I called to make appt per my dentist to have an old root canal checked. as soon as the person at the desk started talking it was..Kan mandates a CT so that she can look at the tooth...$250 out of pocket since its not covered. I have had 4 root canals back home and one here in Sarasota and not 1 endo or any of my dentists mandated or even suggested a CT. So if she is getting $250 per patient per visit...she must be one wealthy dentist! i hung up..there are alot of dentists out there that want an honest business...and this one isn't it!

I first encountered Dr. Kan in April, 2022. The purpose of the visit was to assess the viability of a tooth that had root canal performed on it many years ago. Unfortunately, that tooth could not be saved. Some four months later, I left a phone message for Dr. Kan seeking advice about whether to proceed with a somewhat ‘iffy’ implant procedure. Dr. Kan returned my call within a few hours and patiently explained the various options available to me. Her professionalism and caring attitude are truly remarkable. Furthermore, her office in St. Petersburg is the most well equipped and beautifully designed one I have ever encountered. (Almost can’t wait ‘til I need another root canal procedure.)

Dr. Kan and her staff are amazing. I was having terrible tooth pain and was able to get a same day, emergency appointment and I can't thank you enough. I ended up needing a root canal and it was the most perfectly painless root canal I have experienced. From the moment you walk into the office, you are greeted with smiles and a peaceful atmosphere. Dr. Kan and her assistant are so kind and caring during the procedure. I was even able to watch on the screen what was going on, which for me, is pretty cool. If you are needing an Endodontist don't hesitate to have Dr. Kan take care of you. My mom was experiencing a large amount of pain after visiting a different dentist for a root canal. She had spent 5 months with this pain going to several different dentists and endodontists who did not have an idea what could be the cause. Seeing that Dr. Kan was board certified, I made an appointment. My mom found Dr. Kan to be very patient and caring and had the expertise to diagnose and treat the issue. And now my mom's tooth is healed. It is a great relief after an arduous ordeal. She really appreciates Dr. Kan's dedication and finds her extremely honorable.

Fantastic experience with Dr. Kan! Was extremely nervous but Dr. Kan and Leanna took great care of me. I had a relatively painless and superbly done procedure and couldn't recommend Downtown Endodontics and Dr. Kan more. They also gave me a very competitive rate outside of insurance. This was my first time getting a root canal. Given the terrifying stories I have heard from others, I was very favorably impressed that the experience was painless. The wait time was minimal. The staff was excellent, thorough and very gentle. Dr. Kan was very clear and precise in her explanation to me about the treatment. The receptionist really took time to try to get as much value from my insurance as was possible. Awesome experience!

After concerns arose from my wisdom tooth removal, I was referred to an Endodontist to have a root canal on my back molar. I was very anxious about the procedure, but thankfully Dr. Kan was able to put me at ease. She was detailed in explaining how the process would go and even went out of her way to follow up with me personally after. The root canal was completely painless and recovery was a breeze. I have never met a more kind, empathic, knowledgeable, and patient doctor! You can tell from the moment you meet her she truly cares about her patients. I would without doubt recommend her for any endodontic treatment you need!

Dr. Kan is by far the best endodontist that I have ever experienced. Aside from the fact that she saw me on short notice for an emergency root canal, Dr. Kan is kind and incredibly knowledgeable about her field. Once in the chair, Dr. Kan explained what was going on with my tooth, showing it to me on x-ray and explaining what she was doing every step of the way. She is soft spoken and totally empathetic to my experience. I was not surprised that Dr. Kan called me to see how I was feeling. Having been around doctors my whole life, it is obvious that Dr. Kan is a rare combination and someone to whom I will happily recommend my friends and my family.

The quality of Dr. Kan’s work is unsurpassable! She is worth the extra drive. She is so kind, respectful, gentle, and genuinely cares about her patients. She puts me at ease by calmly explaining the process. She's very nice and professional. From time to time, Dr. Kan gave me updates and let me know how far along the process was. She is a very gifted dentist who is a master at his craft. Thank you Dr. Kan and staff. I would have given you 10 stars if I could!

Great Endodontist. I highly recommend Dr. Kan. She knows exactly what she's doing. I was extremely impressed with the amount of time Dr. Kan spent explaining to me my situation. Felt comfortable and relieved. I waited to do this review for at least a month after my root canal to see how it would do. I'm very pleased.

I had to have a root canal and was a bit anxious about it because I had heard from friends that for them it was a painful experience. My experience with Dr. Kan was entirely to the contrary! She has a lovely friendly demeanor, very calm and reassuring, and has the gentlest approach when she operates in your mouth. I didn't feel a thing!
