Dr. David Streif, DDS

Dr. Streif always took his time during our appointments and proved himself a brilliant yet kind man. I've had TMJ problems for several years now, and he always made sure to take my pain seriously even if he couldn't feel any physical clicking or abnormalities. I've been to only two appointments and my jaw has improved significantly. If you want a doctor who is thorough and patient, see Dr. Streif!

I have been seeing Dr. Streif for the past year. Issue one: Locked jaw R side and I was referred by my dentist. Sent me to PT and after two months with no relief referred me to oral surgeon. Had surgery to fix locked jaw and all was great. Unfortunately, I also have condylar resorption so my bite changes constantly and I am in the office every 3-4 weeks for a splint adjustment. I have been completely satisfied with Dr. Streif's knowledge, professionalism, and friendly manner.

1. appliance is way larger and thicker than it needs to be; 2. I have never waited less than 25 minutes (in total) when I had an app't with him; even when it was the first app't of the day; 3. It's not clear to me (or my dentist) that I need the appliance in the first place. I was not impressed by Dr. Streif or how he runs his office.

I saw Dr. Streif again for recurrence of severe TMJ. I was waiting for a PT appt. Meanwhile I asked for pain med. He wrote for ONE Vicodin DAILY as needed! Exam, X-rays revealed partially locked jaw with pain & inflammation to one side of my face. When I requested a RX refill, he refused. After many calls between myself, his nurse and him, It was refilled this ONE time only. He was harsh & unsympathetic. Maybe because he's a dentist, not an M.D. I felt totally insulted and haven't been back.
