Visits were cleanings twice per year. After about 5 years of going to this dentist, I think I only actually saw him twice, for a few minutes each time. I guess he totally relies on the hygienist's opinion, instead of taking the time to do a proper exam himself. The thing that made me fire him, was the fact that the hygienist decided to take some periapical x-rays, instead of the normal type that they always did. She did it without checking to see if my policy covered them first, and telling me why she was doing this, and what it was going to cost first. I got the bill two months later and questioned it. Billing dept. said that they do not check to see if a procedure is covered by a patient's policy. They just send the bill to insurance, and whatever it doesn't cover, they send the patient a bill. I don't commit to buying something without knowing why I need it and what it is going to cost first. Do you? The billing dept refused to understand this logic. They just acted like robots.

I first came to his office because of a bad toothache. I wanted to have the tooth extracted, but he suggested I see an endodontist to see if it was really that tooth, and maybe a root canal would fix it. Turned out it was another tooth. So instead of making money off me, he sent me to another doctor. Months later I went to his office because a crown had come off. His office manager checked and found out that with my insurance that it would cost me less to have a new crown ($98 out of pocket) versus having my old one cemented back on ($127). I have been going to his office for annual check ups and seeing his hygienists. I have been to other dentists around the Lady Lake area who just seem to want to rip you off, his office is good.
