Dr. Coty Hulgan, DMD

I had such anxiety about having a gum graft. Upon my first visit, Dr Hulgan explained everything to me and gave me the choice of going to his Bham office so he could use nitros oxide. The staff also called me in a calming pill to take the morning of the procedure. From the time I arrived, the staff was so nice to help me get comfortable. The pill and nitrous oxide helped tremendously!!! I felt no pain during the procedure, and Dr Hulgan talked to me the whole way through. I left with instructions, a prescription for pain meds, and his cell phone number should I have problems after hours. I would highly recommend Dr Hulgan and his staff!

This is the greedy, ugly type of provider that pretends like he has this grand plan for you and makes you keep coming back multiple unneeded visits to keep his hand out for MORE MONEY!!

If I could give 0 stars for this periodontist, I would. He did a procedure that I did not need and then was not there for follow-up when problems arose. Permanent damage resulted from the issue that I had, for which he was not around to help with. I would not recommend him at all.

This doctor is very unorgainized. My appointment was rescheduled three times and then when I showed up, the office staff were very rude to me. The place doesn't look clean either. I would avoid this place! Do not recommend.

Dr. Hulgan and his assistant Becky were exceptional in the care that I received. They made sure that I fully understand the procedure. My comfort was a big concern for them and they helped me understand each and every step of my treatment. I would highly recommend this team to anyone!!

Beautiful! Dr and staff very friendly and strive to make you as comfortable as possible. Dr Hulgan is always on time for appt. No waiting. He is very good at calming you if you are uneasy and I was. In fact, I was scared half to death. He was third dental person I had seen for the root canal. He did the procedure and I did not feel any pain. I didn’t take any pain meds. He is one great doctor. Would I recommend him?? You bet. Works fast and accurate. He is my hero.

Dr Hulgan and all staff at Southern Periodontics are beyond amazing. I was referred by Dr Smith in Rbc for a back tooth that kept zinging. He sealed it right up and answered questions about a procedure I was curious about. I went back a few months later after gathering enough courage to do so and wow were they excellent at calming my jittery nerves. Dr. Hulgan, Sidney and Jessica were so fun to talk to during the procedure, after and at my 2week check up that I was actually sad to leave.
