I made an appointment to get my teeth cleaned which I routinely do every 6 months. Prior to the cleaning Dr Sapp examed my mouth and stated I needed a procedure called debriment which is $150.00. She flatly refused to allow my teeth to be cleaned until after the debriment which would be within the next month and then 2 months later I should come back for a teeth cleaning. I went home and looked up debriment. Decided I should get a 2nd opinion. Went to another dentist's office 2 days later and my teeth were cleaned by that office. No mention of unnecessary procedures or tartar removal that could not be handled by a regular cleaning. So I was charged for an exam to be refused a basic cleaning and was expected to pay an additional $150 for an unnecessary procedure. Additionally, an x-ray was taken and the protection for radiation put on me. An xray had to be repeated twice, however, the radiation protection was not used for those.
