So many issues with this dental care provider over the years. Doctor seems to know what she's doing, but office staff is terrible, and information conveyed often goes out of sight, out of earshot, out of mind after a phone call is placed by a parent. Doctor charged us over $500 for a cleaning, exam and all-around scan and diagnosis, half of which insurance did not cover. The balance was mandated immediately upfront at the time of service, with no prior warning and no option to be billed. Trying to get in during COVID was a nightmare. Once I was obliged to wait outside while the doctor examined my child for COVID protection. This might've been OK, but then I had to watch other parents being allowed back who were having different procedures done for their children. And after the doctor saw my child, neither she or anyone else came out and said anything to me about what was found or done during the appointment for which I was paying. Finally decided to get my child a new dentist and called to ask that he be removed from their system, and followed the requested website protocol to do so. Not more than two weeks later I got a phone call reminding me that my child was due soon for his 6-month exam, and asking would I like to make an appointment. Twice now I have asked that my son be cancelled as one of Dr. Iannessa's patients and that his records be forwarded to his new dentist. I was told this was not going to be a problem, and I would not be charged. More than a month later I am still waiting for the records, after two requests. There are easier pediatric dentists to deal with than this business.

I had been going to Dr Iannessa since my son was 1yrs old. He is now 12. All 3 of my kids have gone to her since they were 1. We will no longer be going there. I had arrived today for an appt I thought was at 1p which upon arriving had been informed the appt was actually at 10am. Obviously I made a mistake on the time and come at 1p instead of 10am. I showed up just wrong time. Things happen when you are a parent to 3 small kids. Well they do not care they then proceeded to tell me I will be charged $50 each for not showing up to our appointment. After I had asked the receptionist to please ask if the fee could be waived because obviously I showed up just the wrong time another women came out and told me to avoid the fee I had to wait an hour and half with 3 kids to be seen. If I didn’t wait to be seen at 2:30p I will be charged $150. Needless to say I will never be taking my children there again.

Went to take my almost 7 year old for an appointment to see about getting a few crowns. Office staff and Dr would not listen to us. They jumped right to an IV sedation for cavities to be filled. Did not even want to hear about other options. Very rude.

Go somewhere else! I have never cared for this place, but our last visit was awful! We waited two months to get a tooth fixed on my 7 year old. I was just there two months ago, which was also during Covid and they had no problem letting me go with my son. Today though it was a big deal and they were extremely rude about it! Then after they fixed the tooth they never once told me what they did or anything! Then they sent my kid out into the parking lot alone!!! I luckily had just gotten back from riding around with my one year old to keep him happy or my son would’ve been standing alone in a parking lot. Absolutely ridiculous. Then my kid informs me that someone that worked there sarcastically said to him “You have a real nice father” and walked away. How dare you say anything to my son if you’re not helping him in any way?! Not a dentist or a dental assistant, but a damn secretary! They need to learn to do their job correctly instead of running their mouths to other people’s children!

The dentist is great. Office staff is not. Called in May to try to see the dentist. We were put on list - we were never called. Called 8/11 told that the office staff has turned over and that is why we were never called. Cannot be seen until October. Again the dentist is great. Office management in poor.

My 3 kids have been seeing Dr. Iannessa even before she had her own office. They love coming here and I would not trust them going anywhere else.

Dr. Iannessa and her staff our awesome. My two little ones would not want to go anywhere else. They really put a lot into protecting the patients of the practice during the COVID-19. It made me feel really comfortable bringing my children there.

My children appointments were canceled and I was told until I showed up for the appointment. Instead of getting my kids in the next day or so, I was told the next appointment was over 3 months away. Don’t go here! Very bad office management. This was not the only problems we have had.

Both of my children now have to have extensive dental work done because Dr. Ianessa chooses to "watch" teeth and not fix them. The wait time in the waiting room for a general cleaning has been anywhere from 15-30 mins. And to schedule a procedure is 3 months out.

The dentist is great. The receptionist/office manager is nasty. She was argumentative with me about appointments (why have an attitude over scheduling?). While waiting , I overheard her speaking on the phone to a patient's mother and the receptionist, who called herself the office manager, was completely rude. She had no customer service skills. Despite a good atmosphere in the treatment area and my confidence in the dentist, I will not be back because of the receptionist.

Will not return in Pittsburgh, PA – Mar 29, 2017

needed sedation for surgery for removal of tooth and other services. after given a date that did not correspond with my daughters school schedule, ( she had a district band performance), I asked to change date. I was told in a nasty manner that I was no longer welcome in this dentistry. and I could not change the date because Iannessa went through so much to schedule it. No one is thinking about the child in this situation. Its all about money. I think that is disgraceful.

Arrived 8 minutes late to my 8am cleaning with my 3 year old and newborn and was told we could not be seen. My daughter loves going to the dentist and cried when I told her we had to leave. We were the very first appointment with no one else waiting. The receptionist embellished our lateness by adding time to the clock and informed us that our visit was already 1/2 way over. She asked us to come back at 10:30am with no concern to a busy parent's schedule. They also charge for dental records

The checkin process was smooth but we waited 30 minutes after our appointment to be seen. Then we waited about another 30 minutes once the hygienist was done to see the dentist. She was very nice but it seemed like they could use another dentist to help expedite appointments. I think there is only one dentist to serve the whole office.

I think Dr Iannessa was very caring for the minute she was in with my child. She was quick with her check, I'm hoping she was thorough. The hygienist we had was obviously new, she didn't know where anything was, she kept dropping things and picking them back up, she didn't use them again, but she didn't change gloves either...I don't think we'll be going back to this dentist any time soon!
