Bedside Manner is Lacking
I have a lot of dentist anxiety and was very nervous about having two cavities filled. I told the dental hygienist who was kind and reassuring that I would feel "no pain" yet didn't do much to accommodate my anxiety when I asked her about nitrous or other forms of anxiety relief. She stated that the room where nitrous was available was "busy" and it would cost "$175 extra" anyway. They gave me numbing gel and several shots of Novocain but the drilling was still very painful for my two molar fillings. Rather than try to accommodate me, they said, "you'll just have to go to someone who can sedate you" and dismissed me with a name and number on a post it note. I felt like it was my fault that I was having pain on top of anxiety from the filling. She was behind (I had to wait 30 minutes despite being on time) so maybe that's why. I would not recommend her if you want a caring and gentle dentist. Lots of other dentists in Athens to choose from. I'd steer clear of Dr. Bennett.

I used to HATE going to the dentist. Now, I go without issue. Dr. Chanda Bennett is the most thorough, direct, kind, dentist I’ve been to. Her office has a great, competent staff. I think the thing I like most is knowing I am seeing one dentist (not multiple, who never know who I am), and that no one has ever tried to up-sell me there. I’m not told I have to have some unnecessary procedure just for them to make an extra buck.

From the time I walked in to having a treatment plan in place (with an additional referral) it was a pleasant experience. Ashley was awesome and very patient with my cleaning-took her time and explained everything. Dr. Bennett was very thorough with the inspection of my teeth and explained what needed to be done to the problemed teeth. Paula was very helpful w processing all paperwork and scheduling all appointments. Her staff makes sure your visit goes well and your pleased with the outcome.

Dr. Bennett's mismanagement of my TMJ has destroyed my bite. Her dental assistant accidentally sprayed toxic chemicals into my mouth while preparing the NTI and that is why I stopped going to the office. I have consulted with 7 TMJ specialists in three major cities: Atlanta, San Diego and Los Angeles. My bite is ruined and can only be fixed by expensive out of pocket orthodontia. I think Dr. Bennett should compensate me as she is now costing me thousands of dollars by her mistake.
