Escape the pain. Don’t go to her.
I went to Southwest Endodontics in Geneva because my dentist doesn’t do root canals and his office recommended this practice. He won’t be doing that anymore. I showed him photos of my swollen bruised cheek, a result of Dr. Damas’s aggressive administering of the numbing agent. She put the gel on my gum, which is supposed to numb the area after a minute. She swiped some on and immediately started pushing the needle into my gums like they had committed a crime against her mom. I’m 65 and have had some really bad dentists but this was, by far, the most painful dental experience I’ve ever had and I had a cut in my tongue from a dentist’s drill.I was glad to get out of there but my jaw started swelling and turning blue. It was swollen and purple for a week and a little longer to disappear.I went on vacation and when I went came back I showed my dentist the photos and he said he never saw anything like it before. So, don’t go here. Under any circumstances. I take back that one star.

Needs a course in bedside manner. Did not introduce herself and gave minimal explanations regarding the procedure. Never tried to reassure. I found her abrupt. As were her staff. Won’t go back in the future. There are many others to choose from. The actual root canal seems ok, we will see. ( be ready for the high expense which you pay before the procedure even begins).

Dr. Damas is wonderful. She fixed my root canal that went bad from a number of years ago. She even saved my crown so I didn't have to get a new one! The treatment was pain free during an after. Highly recommend her and her office.

Dr. Damas is really good at what she does. I was so scared of my root canal and she took the time to explain everything to me in a way I could understand everything. Both her and her staff were kind and caring. The procedure was absolutely quick and painless. Dr. Damas even called me the next day to make sure I was feeling ok and to answer any other questions I had. I highly recommend her and will return if I ever need another root canal. I hope I don't though. Thank you Dr. Damas!

I have never needed a root canal before and was recommended by a friend to see Dr. Beth Damas. My anxiety was high but the minute I entered the office, my anxiety was reduced. The staff was very friendly and informative. I had heard horror stories about root canals and Dr Damas explained everything she was doing. I was in the chair for 45 minutes and did not feel any pain ever. After several hours after my procedure I still feel great. Would I recommend Dr. Damas, I certainly would!!

My experience with Dr. Damas was that she didn't explain the root canal very well and also seemed annoyed when I asked questions. She was rude to her employee and there is no safety precautions taken for covid. I only went for a consult and I won't go back.

Dr. Damas is fast, efficient, and explains root canal procedures very well. She is extremely good at what she does as a specialist in endodontics. I can't imagine having a root canal done by anyone else after going to someone as efficient and wonderful as her. I literally was done in 35 minutes with EVERYTHING, she's always on time!

My temporary crown fell out and was inadvertently swallowed 1.5 days after being placed, so I was scheduled at the Joliet office for a replacement. I arrived to my appt to find their office was out of power due to a previous storm, and none of their partnering satellite offices bothered to contact the patients to inform us of this. A receptionist at the Orland Park office advised me Dr. Damas could see me at their location instead. After driving 50 minutes to their office and filling out paperwork, I was dismissively told by Dr. Damas there’s nothing she can do for me since they don’t make temporary crowns there. Her “solution” for me was to call the Joliet office, back to square one, where they have no power. Apparently their receptionist staff needs in-serviced on the work their office provides before scheduling patients for futile appts. Dr. Damas could also use some practice in bedside manner, as her apathetic, “it’s not my problem” attitude is distasteful for a “professional.”

Exceptional doctor that stands head and shoulders above her peers in bedside manner, expertise and ability to successfully execute on a plan. We drove 5x further to get to Dr Damas than the nearest Endodontist and we would have driven 10x and not thought twice. Highly recommend.

Before seeing Dr. Damas for the first time I had a different dentist who batched four root canals leaving me with an infection and a piece of broken dental instrument inside my tooth. Dr. Damas took the time to review my situation and within 2 visits she corrected the issues that I had been suffering with for months. She and her staff are awesome! I can't thank her enough.
