It all started when she tried to shove those sharp metal tools into my mouth without the numbing gel. And as much as I’d like to say that was the worse part, the truth was it only got worse from there. I spent my appointment in pain, listening to what sounded to be a sledgehammer or some other power tool being applied to my teeth and with all manner of substances shooting from my mouth to my face and neck. She said she was scraping off all the tartar, but I frankly have no idea how much tartar there could’ve been, since I’m regular with brushing and flossing as well as having been at that exact office three months prior. I certainly didn’t have enough to warrant the amount of time she spent sharpening her tools between each tooth. I had my headphones on to drown out the sound, but she seemed to be determined to talk over them. I just had to stop responding. In addition to all of that, I left my appointment with dried blood, saliva and water caked around my mouth as she somehow splashed my face no less than eleven times during the appointment. I looked like a crazy person. I’m never going back.
