Dr. Alan Dowell, DDS

Dr. Dowell has been our 2 kid's dentist for all their lives. One is in the 11th grade and one has gone away to college. With about 2 visits per year for 2 kids, that would be over 50 visits. In those 50+ visits we've only had great experiences and I notice other parents and kids that seem to be having similarly great experiences. A major part of one of the subjects that I teach at the university is customer service, so I pay more attention to the quality of care and service than most people. Dr. Dowell is one of the kindest and most gentle people I've ever met. In fact, if I had to compare him to someone, it would be Mr. Rogers. He is also extremely professional in every detail of his work. He explains the options and the costs and if appropriate, makes a suggestion. In closing, we are extremely happy with quality of Dr. Dowell's care and are happy to give him and his staff the highest possible recommendation.

When you first consult with Dr. Dowell, he's super nice; and then he intimidates children into cooperating during the dental procedure. My 6 yr old was scared the entire time, but according to Dr. Dowell's dictator dentistry you can't even talk to or comfort your child. And my child couldn't talk to me either. You can only sit there and hold their hand. He ignored my child and chatted with is DA during the procedure. He never tried to comfort my child. I cancelled appointments for my other kids.
