Patient with Dr Rafla for 25 yrs
After a car accident at 19 yrs old my only option back then was dental bridges. At 40 yrs old with nerve pain & failing bridgework I saw Dr. Rafla for implants. He is a total professional & expert periodontist, as well as kind, caring person. My implants have not failed in 25 yrs. I moved to Maine to retire and when told to see a local periodontist I couldn't start with someone new. I drove 3 hrs back to Worcester, MA for a consult because I trust Dr. Rafla.

Misrepresented Initial X-ray billing. Took xrays then asked how I was going to pay. Prior to (implant) surgery had to pay in full then office sent a post op bill. Office is not accurate with billing. I would not recommend Rafla to anyone.

To get an estimate for implants cost me $454.00, even though I was not told that such a charge was forthcoming.

I had implants done and when Doctor Rafla was done, I found out that he decided to add an extra implant without asking me. When I came to, I was given the bill which I had to pay on the same day before I left. I was stupid and paid for the implant. I should have refused to pay. Find an honest dentist who cares about his patients doesn't own a 4 million dollar home. Office is nice and clean as well as the waiting area.

Dr Raffla only cares about numbers. During my first 2 hrs laser surgery my mouth began to tremble , you could tell this was interfering with his overbookeducation schedule and he appeared impatient. With my 2nd appointment he actually stated he liked me better this time (no mouth trembling). He billed for occlusal adjustment he never preformed. When asked by hygienist to check my mouth he declined on 2 separate occasions. I would recommend finding any other more caring periodontists.

Dr. Rafla made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole procedure. Julie reviewed everything with my insurance and explained how it works so I understood my financial obligations and what to hopefully expect from the insurance company in terms of coverage. The whole staff was very helpful in making me feel comfortable from the start. I highly recommend going to Dr. Rafla!

I was referred to Dr. Rafla by my general dentist for an implant. It was a while since the last time I seen a dentist due to a previous bad experience 10 years ago. I was very anxious but from the consultation to the day of the implant placement and my post op visit Dr. Rafla's office made me feel so at ease.

Dr Rafla is all about how many patients he can see as fast as possible. He spent about 15 minutes with me performing my gum graft and when I called one week later concerned about the continued pain and discoloration of my gums he couldn't even come in and do a post op check on my gum complaint. The hygenist is the specialist in this situation just as long as he gets paid. That's another thing watch your dental insurance claims when they arrive because they double bill.
