Dr. Afroz Burges, DDS

Dr. Burgess is a very experienced doctor and is very compassionate with her patients. Normally, most people are afraid of going to a dentist because of the perceived tools which the dentist will use in the mouth. However, Dr. Burgess is very much aware of what is going on in the patient's mind and makes sure that the patient feels the least amount of discomfort and/or pain during the procedure. Her charges are very, very reasonable and affordable. These are very important factors which most other dentists in the market do not care about and are only interested to point out as many faults in your mouth as possible so and also the ones that do not exist. Most dentists already know the helplessness of the patients and try to exploit them, however, this is not an a problem with Dr. Burgess.It is for these reasons that I drive from Katy to Pearland to see Dr. Burgess, because I can sit on her chair and open my mouth fearlessly.

My family did NOT have a good experience with this dentist! While getting a crown, I was not fully numb before Dentist began drilling. I told her the novacane was not working despite multiple injections, she seemed to blame me for this, saying she had given me plenty. At the end of this very painful and anxious experience, she said my tongue would probably be sore later because it kept getting in her way. She then left for her lunch break and had her assistant fit the temporary crown. No apology, compassion, nothing! My tongue was full of cuts! It was likely trying to protect me from the pain by getting in her way while drilling! Couldn’t she have used some kind of tongue support/holder to prevent the multiple cuts? I have NEVER had issues at the dentist and only tried this one because of moving from another state

I was referred by a friend. Dr Burgess was quick to say I needed a crown. My crown fell out 9-10 months later. The second crown has given me issues. Dr Burgess and staff more interested in collecting fess than quality service or offering assistance with the crown that fell out. The dentist is in your mouth and if she felt there wasn’t enough tooth left then she should have recommended a bridge. She had an oh well attitude about my crown.

After being with Dr. Burges for five years plus I would think she would hate to lose a client over her dental hygienist unprofessional behavior, however I was sadly mistaken. I had an appointment for 1:30pm and the dental hygienist called @1:20 stating I was late and needed to reschedule, because she had another appointment. I arrived to discuss in person and she even stated it was their fault scheduling. I was turned away even though I been there through the many dental hygienist. NO LOYALTY!
