Care Philosophy: Stress physically changes us. Exposure to stressful situations instantly triggers measurable physical and physiological changes in the body. Stress changes our brain and body chemistry, affecting how we think, feel, and see the world! I specialize in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other methods of combating stress by recognizing the mental traps we all experience daily! We will spend some time thinking about how you think. Anxiety and Depression are not "mental problems." They are common chronic health problems, just like Diabetes and Hypertension. Depression and Anxiety affect the system of the brain that regulates emotions. Just like Diabetes affects the endocrine system and kidneys, like Hypertension affects the cardiac system and heart.

Care Philosophy: "That which does not kill me...makes me stronger." I believe that the saying should say "That which does not kill me...makes me suffer." We try to be strong for so many people, ourselves, our job...thinking in the end there is strength...and actually I think that is true. However, having an additional perspective while you suffer through to the point where you realize your strength is important. Also, having someone there to acknowledge your strength when you need it most is important.

Care Philosophy: I believe therapy can help in a variety of ways. It can help people work through life issues such as anxiety, communication, depression, feeling overwhelmed, life changes, and shame. As a third party, I can listen in an objective fashion and help you set and achieve goals or learn new life skills and coping strategies to deal with the issues going on in your life.

Care Philosophy: Talkspace partners with care providers who find satisfaction in providing therapy in a way that prioritizes the client's convenience and preferences. Because all therapy takes place virtually, through messaging, live virtual sessions, or both, providers can communicate more frequently and casually in comparison to traditional face-to-face therapy. Talkspace treatment methods are supported by scientific research and are committed to non-judgmental care that is inclusive and respectful of cultural and other identities. Talkspace patients are matched with the best provider for them based on their needs and availability during the registration process. Once matched with a provider, patients may change at any time, and may contact support to request a specific provider. *The above is attributed to Talkspace and not the provider.*

Biography: I am a clinical social worker licensed in Arizona with over 15 years of professional experience in therapy. Since I was a teenager, I have always wanted to work in a helping profession. I have had the benefit of attending a terrific Master's program in Social Work at Temple University. However, the people I have served along the way have been my greatest teachers in the quest for positive change in all our lives. The beginning years of my career were hands on with women's issues, substance abuse, hospice, community, and inpatient mental health as a mental health technician. I have also worked in a group home for developmentally delayed adults. Once I earned my clinical license, I provided individual and group counseling for adults focused on the wide range of human experiences. I have worked as a Clinical Director, Clinical Supervisor, and Therapist with adults of all ages. Over ten years have passed since my clinical licensing and I have enjoyed every one of my job experiences working one on one with people. As unique individuals entering a counseling alliance, beginning the therapy process is always a new adventure. I have been taught that the most important aspect of therapy is the relationship we find together. I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Positive Psychology, and Reality based treatments, and I like to assign constructive homework between ongoing sessions. The world-renowned psychologist Dr. Carl Rogers suggested providing unconditional, positive regard when establishing the counseling relationship. In every new therapy alliance, I try to emulate his humanistic approach. Overall, my expertise lies in mental health and substance abuse counseling. I really enjoy positive psychology and I am told that I am caring, loving, and genuine. We are all in a new age, grappling with old and new issues. I would enjoy meeting you and working with you to move forward in a healthy way.

If you are truly ready to work, get in touch with me. Available by appointment. The office is located near the intersection of E Washington and State, just outside downtown Indy, near the 65/I-70 Washington Street exit.

Biography: I still love what I do after 22 years. I have extensive experience in Christian Counseling, Blended Families, Couples, Addiction, PTSD, Trauma, Sex-Offenders, and Obsessive-Compulsive behaviors. I have worked with a variety of clients ranging from ages 7 to 89. I have worked with juveniles in a residential facility, military families on an army base, couples, and individuals through mental health and addiction facility plus my church. I am independently licensed in 3 different states as a Marriage and Family Therapist and independently licensed in 2 states as an Addiction Counselor. I believe everyone has a "gift," something that they are called to do and Counseling is mine. I care about my clients and have the innate ability to "zone" in what is going on with them. I use Emotional Focus Therapy, Strength-Based, Trauma-Informed, Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but it really depends on the clients I am seeing. Personally, I am a wife who has been married for 39 years with 8 children and 23 grandchildren. I work full time at a mental health facility, but I have some mornings and evenings available for my Better Help clients. My goal is to help my clients reach their goals. I find joy and satisfaction when I see them achieve what they are searching for. I offer a safe environment, honesty, understanding, and respect. I admire anyone who wants to make a change and is willing to reach out and ask for help. I am here for you if you are that person.

Biography: I am a licensed psychologist in both Arizona and California and have over 40 years experience as a Clinical Psychologist with a specialty practice in neuropsychology/medical psychology. I am board certified nationally which less than 10% of licensed psychologists have obtained. My PhD is from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and my internship was in Medical Psychology from the Washington University School of Medicine. Both programs were APA-approved. I have been the Director of Pediatric Psychology for Phoenix Children's Hospital, Assistant Director of a Family Medicine Residency Program in Scottsdale Arizona, and held multiple appointments at the University of Arizona School of Medicine in the Departments of Pediatric, Family & Community Medicine and Orthopedics (chronic pain issues) before retiring 2 years ago and selling my private practice. I was also Director of a large internal Employee Assistance Program for the hospital system (10,000 employees plus their dependents), for 20 years, and very familiar with life/work balance and corporate stress. My therapy style is eclectic and wide ranging depending upon the age, needs and individual (or families) temperament. I specialize in short-term solution based problem solving coupled with informational/educational supplements as needed. I have always told folks there is a wide range to normal (I am extremely tolerant of different lifestyles and very non-judgmental) but if it is not working for you let's find a way to change it up. I have also found all it sometimes takes is a 10% change to make a 100% improvement.

Biography: Nya:weh Sge:no (I am thankful for your being)! I'm Kyrie. I am a clinical social worker in AZ with over 20 years of experience working as a psychotherapist and life coach. My passion for walking alongside others as we journey throughout life together has been ever present & tremendously inspired by my strong Indigenous heritage. I value diversity, respect for self/others and authenticity. I believe that we maintain our innate perfection and ability to heal ourselves from within ourselves despite our day-to-day worldly challenges. Finally, I strongly feel that we must nourish our entire being (mind, body, emotions and Spirit) to thrive. Although I consider myself a specialist in trauma issues, I have worked with clients across the lifespan on a broad range of needs. Some of the most common topics include life adjustments, ADHD, anxiety, chronic illness & pain, grief, depressive disorders, parenting, relationships and PTSD. My therapy style is warm, intuitive and interactive. Our sessions will utilize education, dialogue and skills building. We will strive to close each session with a mutually agreed upon homework assignment to work on until the next session. I promise it won't be too painful and sometimes it might even be fun????. My clinical approach is eclectic however I rely heavily on concepts/skills from cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavior, eye movement desensitization & reprocessing, psychodynamic and humanistic therapies. For those interested, I can also integrate spiritual knowledge and practices into your therapy as well. I enjoy learning about and experiencing how different cultures around the world approach overall wellness. I can guide you in your own exploration, so that you can cultivate a meaningful definition of wellness for you. Thank you so much for taking the time to review my profile. If I haven't touched on your specific concerns, please reach out to ask more about my experience and approach to determine if I am the best provider to support you through your journey. There is nothing more important than finding just the right fit between client and therapist/coach. Have a wonderful day!

Biography: I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that has worked over the course of 23 years in both inpatient Crisis and outpatient counseling settings with individuals, couples and families, ages 4 y.o. to 85 y.o. in Florida, Utah, Maine, Arizona, and several other countries. I am very versatile in my approach, tending to begin where you, the client are first, then tailoring my interventions from that point on. My specialty is in working with PTSD, i.e. abuse , and primary and secondary traumas. Relatedly, I am a Certified TIST [Trauma-informed Stabilization & Treatment] therapist, and have advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, including the Flash Technique. I have also frequently worked with the Chronically Mentally Ill person, including those with Schizophrenia, Bipolar, Dissociative issues, and Depression, as well as those in various Life Transitional stages, Ex Pats, HSPs, and Developmental delays. I have also counseled a few individuals with up to middle stage Dementia (since newer Rx leaves them with tremendous adjustment issues) and their caregivers and parents struggling with parenting issues. My highest comfort level is with ages 18 and over in Individual sessions. My counseling style is ecclectic, with a warmth of engagement and focus on acceptance, positive regard, and trust-building, but can be highly solution-focused and brief as needed in the course of your therapy. I use a Motivational Interviewing technique to identify both what it is the client truly desires, as well as what they do not want, or are not motivated to achieve, and why. I then will shift to a more Strengths-based and Skill-building approach and the use of Cognitive-Behavioral and Humanistic interventions with a Family Systems and Developmental perspective on relational issues. I have done my own personal counseling work, and recognize it to be a powerful, yet courageous endeavor in a person's life. Good therapy can transform you and it is a gift to be able to engage in it. Every person is precious, and deserving of respect, kindness, and a place to be fully heard, accepted, and a place to develop their best selves in a healing, compassionate environment. I consider my work as a therapist to be a sacred trust, a privilege, a calling, and part of my own journey as a fellow human being. Working with you will be an honor to help you on your very unique path toward a healthier you, and in the style you determine to be the most helpful and supportive.
